RULES OF PARTICIPATION
Participants between the ages of 18 to 35 will be accepted.
Each participant will present a romanza of a zarzuela in video format with accompaniment, either with a live pianist or a track recording.
We will reject altered recordings for video and sound improvement.
The recording must be posted on Youtube. The singer shall mark the option “unlisted” in the privacy settings of their video and provide the link of their recording.
Each participant will be requested to provide a photo. We highly suggest a professional photograph for promotional purposes on social media.
Once the application is filled, the singer authorizes Zarzuela, Voz y ¡Olé! to use their name, their recording, their picture, and their information regarding their participation on the competition for promotional purposes, forever. This includes but it is not limited to social media, our web page, and the press.
The deadline to register, make payment and submit video will be February 20 at 23:59 pm (11:59 pm) AST. After that, the closing of the registrations for this edition will be considered. Late payments will not be disbursed.
The registration date is extended until March 1 at 23:59 p.m. AST.
It is highly suggested that each singer verifies the copyright of the piece they will present (and obtains permission if necessary), as stipulated by the Copyright laws. If the composer’s death occurred after 1950, the singer must obtain permission from those who have acquired their rights. This procedure would apply in case that less than 70 years have passed since the author’s passing.
The decision made by the distinguished panel of jury is irrevocable and final. Neither Zarzuela, Voz y ¡Olé!, VA&C, nor any of its employees who are not members of the panel of jury, are part of the evaluation process of this competition, nor of the final decision on the winners.
The winners’ prizes will be delivered by check. If there are trophies or other special prizes, they will be announced in each edition on our official web page.
Zarzuela, Voz y ¡Olé! reserves the right of admission and adjust the rules from time to time.
